School web page to confirm the procedure to improve the quality and safety of the student experiment (Japanese/English)

(1) Learning before the experiment
The students obtain the required knowledge of the experiment from the Web lesson in the exclusive HP . In order to obtain this required knowledge, the students check the experimental procedure through the Web lesson to understand the experiment's dangers and careful operations for safety purposes.
(2) Experiment
The students perform the experiment while checking the experimental procedure shown on their laptop PC, if necessary in accessing the exclusive HP.
(3) Learning after the experiment
The students write the experimental results on the exclusive HP, and examine those results, including those obtained by other groups. The students write their considerations, impressions, and questions in the BBS to share information on the experiment. As a progressive activity, the students may summarize their experimental results to publish in a conference. Moreover, the students may debate bioethics. After the experiment on genetic recombination using colonic bacillus・・・
“Is it allowable to create a new colonic bacillus that does not exist in nature?” and, “Because genetic recombination can be easily achieved, I worry about it being misused.,”
3. Program's Effect and Future Development
1;The experimental manual and the animation
describing the experimental procedure have
been read into the PC, the students can
perform the operation without confusion.
2;The teacher who instructs the students
about the experiment can concentrate on
their safety and grasp the entire situation.
(they can confirm their operation anytime if
necessary.)
3;The number of questions they ask the
teacher regarding the experimental
operations decreases, compared to not
using a PC, and they ask only the bare
minimum.
4;The teacher, who previously spent time answering various questions from each group and looking after operational mistakes, can focus on finding the frighteninged/startlinged mistakes which may cause serious accidents. Thus, serious accidents can be avoided.
